And I noticed this week marked her 100th episode! Congrats Aya! (LOL and wow I just noticed I used the same emoticons as you Matt )

Aya's gonna be part of a radio special again, on Sep 23.

According to Kuno on HO Aya mentioned in today's 5 Stars that she will be leaving the show this month. Which would of course mean that next week's episode will be her last.
Geez, I hope she will stay on Meringue...

Well I guess that means that I'll never get to hear the song played that I requested a few months back. Oh well.

My guess is we won't have to worry about whether Aya stays on Meringue until the Japanese TV season renews next Spring. Remember that for most, if not all Japanese TV shows, their season usually "renews" during the Spring season (i.e. around the end of March/early April). Mid-season changes aren't that common, especially for talk/variety shows/shows with a live audience.

Since Aya's done with the radio and she's gonna be on a couple years leave... I was thinking not as a rumor but strictly as a possibility, (even though she's still got the meringue show) that maybe she's gonna do something about her tmj disorder. I was talking to my sister and she told me that a friend of hers had tmj and they had to break her jaw to fix it. And that her mouth had to be wired up, obviously only allowing her the room to drink through a straw for some time. So I figure since Aya really looked uncomfortable performing when she smooshed her toe that she may be clearing her schedule for her jaw so she doesn't have to sing looking like hannibal lecter. But as long as she keeps cranking out those tv gigs I won't think that that would be the case. But I don't know if meringue is all year or if they shoot every season with time off. But it wouldn't be all bad because bruce lee wrote his first book in the hospital and kanye west wrote his first hit song "through The Wire" And I'm sure Aya could be equally productive! Just thought I'd mention it though because I think Aya still has tmj.

Interesting theory. We haven't heard about her disorder after the occurence back when, but I guess we'll see in the months to come. Don't know about the shooting schedule for Meringue, they might do a couple of shows a day, but I don't think it would be a long period off inbetween. Takahata missed several shows when she was host because of an illness.
